CE-RED certification is the European Union wireless product certification, officially published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ), and came into force on 12 June 2014. The amendment Directive replaces the Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment Directive (R&TTE Directive). By 12 June 2016, member States should translate the amendment Directive into member State law. The original R&TTE Directive (1999\5\EC) was thus invalidated. From 13 June 2016, Member States should adopt the New Radio Equipment Directive (RED); As of June 13, 2017, only wireless devices assessed according to the new RED 2014/53/EU will be allowed to be sold in the EU market.
