RCM : The Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) (General)
The Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) is a trade mark owned by the electrical regulator (Regulatory Authorities (RAs)) and Australian Communications Media Authority (ACMA).
Product scope under RCM control?
The Australian Standard AS/NZS 4417.1 and AS/NZS 4417.2 Marking of electrical products to indicate compliance with regulations ¨C General rules for use of the mark provides general requirements for the use of the RCM including location of the marking on the equipment and its dimensional requirements.
All Level 1, 2 or 3 electrical equipment offered for sale by registered Responsible Suppliers must be marked with the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM)
The RCM is a symbol that represents compliance with two independent schemes:
EESS; and
ACMA¡¯s labelling requirements. (For more information on ACMA, see here)
For electrical safety, in-scope electrical equipment must not be sold unless the item is marked with the RCM in compliance with AS/NZS 4417.1 & 2 and the EESS.

Note:
Some products such as Floor polisher, Heating pad, Projector, Sewing Machine, Water bed heater and other Lever 2 products belonging to RECS are not required to apply for safety certificate according to laws and regulations; However, in the REAS system, it is a Declared controlled product, and it is mandatory to apply for a safety certificate; For such Level 2 products; It is recommended that manufacturers take the initiative to apply for safety certificates to ensure that products can be legally sold in all major Australian states
